The Reinvented Ranch
RD Architecture loves the ranch house! With the potential to create open flowing spaces that connect to the outdoors – it’s one level living at it’s finest! What we don’t like are the low 8’ ceilings and the formal living areas that no longer work for today’s families.
In the case of the reinvented ranch we expanded on the open concept to the max. We raised the ceilings in the living spaces, reconfigured the kitchen, clad the fireplace in Sapele mahogany veneer and salvaged steel. And we solved the elusive puzzle of the “ranch corridor” that runs from the family room to the bedrooms in a dark and dreary fashion. Our solution? – We eliminated it!
