Florida Waterfront Home
The clients of this new Fort Lauderdale waterfront home looked to RD Architecture as an additional team member to craft the architectural interiors and style the exterior. The home, as designed by Leo Hansen, AIA is a cross between international style and Florida chic and was a great jumping off point for the RD team.
The design of the building shell is only half of the story. We provided the interior architecture for every room in the house. We thought about color and lighting, materials and details. Subtle shifts of soft white create the back ground for beautiful detailing. Sapele Mahogany paired with polished chrome creates the stair handrail. The Calcutta Gold Marble counter features a seemingly impossible cantilever. A feature wall painted with a high gloss automobile paint showcases artwork, and provides panel doors to close off the kitchen from the main living area.
Exterior styling included exploring the composition of the front elevation. The subtle color of sandstone tile against white stucco, beautifully detailed metal awning and railing along with a bold driveway pattern create the right balance of color and texture.
